Security & Data Practices
Your business information matters. We treat it that way.
Plority is designed to become a shared source of context for your business relationships. That means customers may trust Plority with information they don’t want scattered across inboxes, spreadsheets, documents, and people’s heads.
We take that responsibility seriously.
This page explains, in plain language, how Plority approaches customer data, access, artificial intelligence, third-party services, retention, and security.
Your Data Belongs to Your Company
The information your Company enters into Plority remains your Company’s data.
Plority does not claim ownership of your Business Charts, Updates, Follow-Ups, contacts, documents, or other Company Data simply because you use our platform.
We process that information to provide and operate Plority, support your use of the product, maintain and secure the Services, and provide functionality you request.
Your business knowledge is valuable because it’s yours—not because we want it.
We Don’t Sell Your Personal Information
Plority does not sell personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
That’s not our business model.
We make money by providing software our customers choose to pay for.
You pay us for Plority. Your data isn’t the product.
Access Is Controlled Within Your Company
Plority is designed so that Companies can control who has access to their account and certain information within it.
Depending on their permissions, users may have different levels of access to Company Data.
Plority currently supports controls including:
Company roles and permissions;
restricted-access Business information;
Company membership and user access management; and
removal or revocation of user access.
Companies are responsible for determining who should have access and for maintaining appropriate permissions as their teams change.
Plority Doesn’t Routinely Read Your Business Charts
Your Business Charts are there for your team, not ours.
Plority personnel do not routinely review the substantive content customers enter into their Business Charts.
There may be limited circumstances where authorized access is reasonably necessary—for example, to provide requested support, troubleshoot a technical problem, investigate misuse or a security concern, comply with law, or otherwise operate and protect the Services.
We aim to limit access to customer information to situations where there is a legitimate reason for it.
Brief Me & Artificial Intelligence
Plority’s Brief Me feature uses artificial intelligence to help authorized users quickly understand information already documented within a Business Chart.
When Brief Me is requested, relevant information available to that user may be sent to an AI service provider, including OpenAI, to generate the requested response.
Brief Me does not replace Plority’s underlying access controls. The goal is simple:
The documentation creates the context. AI makes the context faster to use.
AI-generated responses can occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate. Users should review important information before relying on it for business decisions.
Details regarding AI processing are also provided in our Privacy Policy.
We Use Trusted Service Providers
Like virtually every modern software company, Plority relies on specialized technology providers to help operate the service.
These may include providers supporting:
application infrastructure and hosting;
payment processing;
artificial intelligence;
email delivery;
website hosting;
analytics; and
other technical operations.
For example, Plority uses Stripe for payment processing and OpenAI to support AI-assisted functionality such as Brief Me.
We select service providers based on the needs of the platform and may change providers as Plority evolves.
Payment Information
Subscription payments are processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe.
Plority is intentionally designed so that its own application does not need to directly store complete payment card numbers or similar full payment credentials.
In other words:
We’d rather let the company whose job is payments handle the payment cards.
Seems like a pretty good division of labor. 😉
Product Analytics Without Selling Your Business
We want to understand whether Plority is actually helping businesses.
Plority may collect and analyze product utilization information such as feature usage, frequency of Updates, Follow-Ups, and other activity patterns.
We use this information to understand how Plority is being used, improve the product, prioritize development, identify problems, and evaluate product effectiveness.
Plority may also create and use aggregated or deidentified information that does not reasonably identify an individual or customer Company.
That may eventually allow us to answer useful questions such as:
How actively are teams documenting important business relationships?
Are Follow-Ups being completed more consistently?
Which capabilities provide the most value?
Is Plority helping teams maintain stronger continuity over time?
Aggregated or deidentified insights may also be used to communicate generalized trends or outcomes about Plority.
We want to learn from how the product works—not expose who our customers are or what their Business Charts say.
Data Retention & Cancellation
If you cancel a Plority subscription, cancellation stops the subscription from renewing at the end of the current paid billing period.
You retain access through the remainder of that paid subscription term unless otherwise specified.
After the paid subscription term ends, Plority generally retains Company Data for 90 days.
This provides a window for a Company that changes its mind to return without starting from scratch.
During that 90-day period, an authorized Company representative may also contact hello@plority.com to request an export of the Company’s available data.
After the retention period, Company Data may be permanently deleted and may no longer be recoverable, subject to limited legal, security, backup, accounting, or similar obligations described in our Privacy Policy.
Security Is a Shared Responsibility
Plority uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the Services and customer information.
But no software platform can honestly promise that security risk is zero.
Companies also play an important role by:
protecting account credentials;
providing access only to appropriate users;
selecting appropriate permissions;
promptly removing users who should no longer have access; and
avoiding the entry of information that Plority is not designed to process.
As Plority grows, we expect our security practices and infrastructure to evolve with the business.
Plority Is Not a Healthcare Record System
This deserves to be unmistakably clear.
Plority is not HIPAA compliant and is not intended for Protected Health Information (PHI), patient records, or patient-specific medical, clinical, treatment, diagnosis, or behavioral health information.
This remains true even when Plority is used by a healthcare organization.
Healthcare organizations may use Plority for appropriate business and operational relationship management, but users must not enter PHI or patient-specific healthcare information into the platform.
Plority does not routinely audit Business Charts to determine whether users have disregarded this requirement.
If we become aware that prohibited information has been entered, we may take appropriate action as described in our Terms of Service.
Our Security Practices Will Grow With Plority
Plority is an evolving platform, and our security program will evolve with it.
As the Company grows, we expect to continue evaluating additional security controls, monitoring, documentation, independent assessments, and other safeguards appropriate to the size, complexity, risks, and needs of the platform.
We won’t claim certifications or security capabilities we haven’t earned.
Trust is more useful when it’s true.
